I take the Cascades from Vancouver-Seattle semi-frequently for work. On the US side it can run decently fast, but the Canadian side is very slow and if you’re unlucky you can end up waiting for marine traffic at the Fraser river swing bridg

I recently found my PSP with the battery cover popped off by a swollen battery! I'll need to pick up a new one but I'm glad to have caught it before anything too catastrophic happened.

Sadly that isn’t really enough today - since many applications will refuse to function if SafetyNet fails because you have some non-standard image running.

Right, and whilst 3.0 switches are semi-affordable, 4.0 or 5.0 costs significantly more, though how much that matters obviously depends on your workload.

On AM5 you can do 6 M.2 drives without much difficulty, and with considerably better perf. Your motherboard will need to support x4/x4/x4/x4 bifurcation on the x16 slot, but you put 4 there [0], and then use the two on board

I use NixOS on every machine I have running Linux. My config for every machine is in a git repo, and it is super easy to deploy changes via ssh. It took some work to get started - but I would never go back.

I don’t like spending $1k on a phone, but my iPhone 11 Pro lasted 4 years and the only reason I upgraded was because the 15 has USB-C. It would have needed a battery upgrade otherwise but modern phones do have much better longevity.
