From a previous Twitter thread [0] it seems that Apple could easily provide new modules, and perhaps they’ll keep the same form factor in the future, but I don’t think a third party could. Whilst the flash itself is seemingly standard ther

I'm sure you're already familiar, but for others, there is also AMD's SEV-SNP [0] and Intel's TDX [1] that solve similar problems. Azure has SEV-SNP VMs in preview [2] - full disclosure, I work at Microsoft and was invol

I have written these sorts of things, but I do try and put them up on GitHub if I think they’ll be useful to other people. I wrote a tool unimaginatively named wsl-ssh-pageant [0] which I wanted because I use a YubiKey for my SSH key. It ha

I’ve been keeping up with these. I’ve seen mentions of UEFI support but is this platform able to fully qualify as ServerReady? Having fast chips is nice, but I really want to have an ARM platform that I can just throw any Linux, BSD, Window

I've tried open source photo editing before, and honestly, the editing experience is pretty good. I've always struggled to match Lightroom for library management however, even if Lightroom doesn't deal with my network drive p

I think that only works when there is other capacity available. If Intel was suddenly the only fab available to western companies but they refused to fab AMD chips I suspect that would result in intervention.

That’s not really a fair comparison. Apples chip spends most of that on their GPU, and the neural engine takes a chunk too. Threadripper is only a CPU.

The U.K. is primarily a services based economy, I think it is conceivable that the economy can grow whilst energy consumption decreases if you’re seeing a transition from manufacturing and heavy industry to commercial and services.

The later ARM64 Raspberry Pi hardware is more standard, and you definitely can get most of the hardware working with a mainline Linux kernel. It looks like sound may be an outlier - but bcm2835_audio is in staging, and I2S is in the tree pr
