Thanks for digging that up. That was my first question: what kind of vehicle is this? The article didn't go into much detail.

Burning man will never be the same. Any hackers going, btw?

I thought it was a great hack, too. I suppose we should stop passing out opinions here since they get down-modded. Folks, you can just not mod posts that offer no inheriant value to you. Do you want someone down-modding your posts simply be

Interesting that 8/10 new cars that were purchased where foreign. I wonder what percentage of that rebate trickles into American pockets and which goes overseas.

Odd, the article is starting as: "EMBARGOED!Just a few months" What did some editor add 'embargoed' to the article?

It's obvious he's doing this as a hobby. Legal? I'm sure it's on the threshold. This is where an inflexible legal system shows it's age. He isn't hurting anybody, he's obviously having a great time. Netflix is making money/building loyalty

News about pot legalization and stories like these seem to be hitting a feverish level lately. Are we on the verge of seeing some real changes on this front?

Agreed, pot is a psychoactive drug and it does affect everyone in a unique way. In fact, all drugs are going to play with everyone's brains in unique ways. Personally, I don't hack while high, I've never found it helpful. Others will have a

Tolerance? That's what makes a "successful" long-term relationship? That's the best we can do in this lifetime, finding someone we can tolerate?! That's not living a full life! Here's a hint: how often do you look deeply into your partner's

In theory, excerpts are great. I've been sold on products with them. But they can be dangerous, too. It's like software demos -- you put pressure on the end-user to download, install and then figure out your software. I know I don't have 2

It's safe to ignore anyone complaining on the topic of price. Those of us that spend thousands of dollars every year to keep our education up for our section of the technical playground aren't going to hesitate at paying $30 for good inform

I've been thinking about the boat life, too. I'd definitely buy it -- and don't give it away. Your time and experience is worth money and even though I'm a heavy HN reader, I'll gladly trade my money for it.

Even though I haven't used Perl in years, it still has a special place in my heart. Based on your enthusiasm of Catalyst, I may give it a whirl in the next six months.

I guess it depends on what "good" evolution looks like. Should evolution be humans that can procreate most efficiently? In general, I think the question is 'yes'. Because all humans can "connect" with all other humans in society, it doesn't

In general, isn't it pretty obvious when a site has its origins in Photoshop versus being layered up from smartly used HTML/CSS/JS? I tend to shy away from many company sites where this is obvious, am I alone? (I guess it's because I feel l

Is it a surprising choice? Do you think they would have been better off targeting more hackerly type language, since companies aren't going to be too quick in moving to AppEngine in the early term?

I think the real problem will be how easily a refund can be generated. If it's a one-click refund, I suspect people will buy a game, play it out and then request a refund. Hopefully, they require people who want refunds to jump a hoop or tw
