Me too! Rural and temperate? Great. Rural and cold? Not great. I have a heat pump that's rated to -30C. The energy benefits fall off a cliff when it gets cold. Can use as primary in the summer and parts of the shoulder seasons. Useless

Sure. I see your perspective. Let me unpack a bit. As I mentioned, IMO 'good enough' occurred late 1960's; Audio quality is the context surrounding that statement. I have multiple systems. Generally speaking I have them match

For sure. The issue is the zillion variables in headphone mechanicals and transducers. Eventually someone will be making mems transducers in relatively cheap - acoustically inert - form factors and you'll just dial in your sound. It&#x

The key is to create a cash flow with your windfall. Something that will sustain you permanently. There are many ways to do this. You may want to allocate a chunk (say 20%) to use in high risk investments but the rest should go into rental
