I’ve used Google Lens as “if it says unsafe, definitely unsafe”. I would not rely on it for “oh yeah, I can eat this” :). I doubt your “few dozen years” though. Humans are only so good at it themselves. Computing has improved a lot since 19

The author is actually preferentially sending samples towards "attractors" [0] for lights and dielectrics. Doing so massively reduces variance. My favorite example is Figure 5 in this old paper [1] (I've never actually read P

I’d actually search for “tone mapping” for the camera / film part. For physical light units you want to look for “lumens”, “lux” and “IES Lights” (though you probably don’t need to care about the directional profile). It’s super handy

That’s pretty common, because the area lights are often very bright. So the subpixel values are either 0 or white hot (and much brighter than 1.0). If you model the light sources with actual physical units and do some sort of exposure pro

What’s emacs --version say for you? My main complaint from using a Mac laptop for so long is that I often had to download some .el packages, that are basically unnecessary with more recent emacs updates. Other than that, I’ve also got a fai

Nicely done, you have normalized population data! Would you mind defaulting to displaying your cases normalized by population though for the choropleth? Counties aren't uniform, and so you get wildly confusing results from showing abso

There's tons of material online now. If you want a "traditional Utah graphics" curriculum, Cem is teaching most of the stuff (with updates!) from 15 years ago. You can also probably find the old course slides and assignments.
