I agree, probably even more polarizing than the Python 2/3 fiasco. All big applications in C# have been built on .Net Framework and migration to Core is non-trivial if you use any of the EOL technologies. OSS has mostly migrated by now

My Canon printer won’t join my SSID containing an emoji, helpfully throws generic E36 (or something like that). All Apple devices show and connect to the SSID just fine.

It was featured in some article on HN before that we used to have "safe areas". Areas where you could grab a window and drag it around, without having to carefully place the cursor or accidentally pressing a button. This is not ne

DDG has reduced my need for Google Search for about 99% now. I even dread having to adding “!g” to my search as I have a growing dislike for Google’s grey UX patterns.

Sadly only available if your carrier supports it. Here in the Netherlands it doesn’t work with one of the largest carriers (Vodafone) for example. I also don’t know if it’s still English-only.

Also when everything is running locally people tend to forget network latency and the cost of additional roundtrips. This comes at a high price when for example doing lots of database queries or waiting on a majority confirmation of a clus

If you're using a Logitech Receiver (small USB type A RF dongle [0]) plugged into a USB-C hub, interference might be causing your problems[1]. I used to have a setup like that, but after switching to Apple's USB-C adapters (USB-C

Secure Remote Password (SRP) is a protocol for verifying a password without knowledge of the actual password. Now we only need all browsers and applications to support it! Well and a way for initial setup (sharing the seeds).
