Given that it seems to require building everything on the three collaborative primitives, and that much of Wave and the ideas behind operation transformations are open, it seems plausible that someone could build an open source implementati

It's always been interesting to me that someone publishing a paper in computer science (especially someone working at a University) would not want to open source the code that produced those results. It's the best kind of repeatable experim

These networks are being trained on unlabeled data. The premise of training these kinds of deep belief networks is that they can learn surprising amounts of information completely unsupervised.

For what it's worth, we (Stripe) don't use docco. Though, the design was repurposed with permission from @jashkenas. I probably was not the first person to extend the idea of the side by side layout to an API spec and example, but I had not

Of course, any increase in conversion also needs to balance the increase in declines you'll see by not providing a security code.

Though perhaps not as dog-fooding as some other projects, we do build (almost) all of our dashboard on top of our API. This was one of my first goals at Stripe, and I think it's been a huge win for us. We also have a couple of employees who

Nobody is suggesting building every facet of a new build tool. But Cappuccino has a pretty significant library of custom tools built on top of our existing (custom) build system that will need to be rebuilt and rethought on top of a node ba

Cappuccino is an open source project, and continues to thrive. You can see the public activity on Github: http://github.com/cappuccino/cappuccino As you are aware, Atlas is dead and has been for some time. But Cappuccino has always been v

An evolution from not JS to JS for a JS library is not really language agnostic. I'm not sure you have an appropriate grasp of what the JS landscape looked like when we started Cappuccino.

We certainly wish node had come out about a year earlier. It would have saved us a lot of headaches. But at the time there was no serious alternative to narwhal.

Being able to work in JavaScript code is valuable to our users (and to the project itself). Learning make would be a significant barrier for many of them.

To be fair, many of those Harvard and MIT people are dropouts. I think there's some signal in having graduated with a degree, especially from a well regarded university, but it isn't really something we specifically look for and it definite

Supporting a dynamic redirect_uri is optional in the spec, so you could eliminate that without breaking.

We don't require a business number of any kind, you can sign up as an individual (the question will be "business type", and individual is one of the options).

You can't transfer between Stripe accounts. Charges going through Connect have the same fees as ones not going through connect (namely, 2.9% and $0.30). If you're using our application_fee parameter to take your own fee out of a transaction

Actually, you can choose to charge in either USD or CAD, but you can only choose one with your account. If you need to charge in both currencies, for the moment we recommend creating two separate Stripe accounts.
