Cappuccino doesn't render anything in Canvas, with the possible exception of a couple minor pieces of the tableview.

For what it's worth, your CSS corners probably won't work in IE. One of the reasons some things are hard in Cappuccino is because they are unreliable in many browsers. We've focused more on cross platform ways of doing things. Of course the

You are skeptical because you believe that this is a data problem. He believes (as do I) that it is not a data problem. Making more people click your button is not, on its own, good design. There's more to aesthetics than conversion rates.

Maybe. It's still a bit alarmist though. For 99% of sites, it will barely have an effect. Best practices for websites serving millions of pages a day truly are different than for websites serving thousands of pages a day. They are also dif

Yeah, but the appropriate reaction was to talk to anyone at Mozilla before writing a public blog post in a fairly transparent attempt to get some free PR.

The search issue is almost definitely a non issue, and an oversight on the part of iA. Just moving it to the top placement in the left hand column would give it almost the same placement it has on the real Facebook today.

I actually think it might be a pretty nice touch to have the sound in (and a mute button).

While that may be logical, it may not be true in this instance. Apple has a track record of filing lawsuits it knows it almost certainly won't win. I don't think they're afraid of losing money on a lawsuit.

You've sent her e-mail to complain that she used Scribd? I have to say, that's both selfish and obnoxious. Especially because you can just click the download link and get it in whatever format you want.

Apparently, enough people are interested in this particular bug to vote it up. It was news to me at least. Hopefully next time I'll find my own article in Google and remember, since it wasn't a very Google friendly problem before.

That Firebug is an extension is one of its worst features. Every version of Safari or WebKit I download has a working inspector built in. Every time I launch an archived version of Firefox, or get a new version of Firefox, I get warnings ab

I can point to a dozen examples of far better usability in the WebKit Inspector, but rather than do that, I'll just note that almost all of these are fixed in the Chrome version of the Web Inspector.

I don't use Firefox at all, because for what I do it's clearly inferior. I don't think I've launched Firebug to do anything other than log in the last 6 months.

I'm willing to watch a good video, but this one in particular is quite long, and with no narration. A much shorter narrated tour would be both more interesting and more personal.

The experience when you're trying to upload a dozen or a hundred photos is obviously different. The current reality of multi file uploads is still pretty poor in the browser (though the new Facebook photo uploader looks pretty slick).

Partly because every implementation of HTML5 drag and drop has a lot of bugs. Partly because the API is terrible. And partly because the reach is still pretty terrible compared to things like flash. http://www.alertdebugging.com/2009/08/16

The circular slider is a pretty specific user element. Maybe so specific that it doesn't belong in a general purpose framework, I don't know. But it definitely has its place. It's usually coupled with a text field for precision, but it's ge
