You’re not thinking with AI magic. “It’s early” so we can just hand-wave those details away until next funding round.

It’s a cute idea, but it seems unlikely that an implementation generated from this workflow will remain stable and maintainable at scale, especially as complexity of the requirements increase.

I feel these complaints are going to become a non-issue when we can write the optimal SQL then ask AI to do the conversion to ORM code. Or just ask AI to write the optimal ORM code with known data/performance considerations.

Indeed, the holy grail (or perhaps the rapture) of programming languages is a compiler which generates the entire program with zero human-written code. I fear it may be on the horizon.

This is not a language problem. It’s an algorithm design problem. There’s no silver bullet. The basic principle is to divide the problem space into independent blocks of work. How to achieve that depends on the problem.

I agree, though it’s still vendor lock-in. I think a lot of devs aren’t aware of how tightly integrated these frameworks are with the hardware. It’s not trivial to separate the two and the companies driving this tech have no motive to do so

Any idiot can see that a summary is a blurred lens over the original content. Not much more to say, it’s just sad.

This reminds me of the design of aircraft cockpits. Controls are deliberately designed to look and feel different so they cannot be easily confused (in itself a lesson for UI/UX design) - something which has caused aviation incidents i

This isn’t really a valid argument. Scale is clearly going to be a factor.

Doesn’t matter. The weights wouldn’t exist without many tens of millions (at least) in investment. The outcome seems very clear.

I think self-hosting is the future of analytics for the reasons described in many of the other comments: ad blockers, browser privacy settings and content filters are here to stay and will only become more powerful. If we can’t self-host, i

If the developer wants to slow their own development workflow by delaying the code review, that’s.. concerning.

For better or worse, part of the appeal of Wordpress is ease of use for non-developers to update their website. Most small businesses definitely don’t employ a dedicated site admin/developer - if they had to they wouldn’t bother with a

Browser plugins generally have privileged access to data exchanges between user and remote server. So, they could potentially spy on you and scrape your secrets.
