They are outliers. Most startups focus on feature velocity and sales first, quality is an afterthought, regardless of what they might say. Also, if your project is open source, quality has a lot more weight towards uptake.

I’d bet money on people (here) using tools like this to process millions of records or more. It’s a sad truth those people won’t have jobs in a few years when AI, which will know better, takes hold :(

Because then you’re training it on data that is more similar to the operating environment for the application. It’s a better fit for purpose. If the target environment was a clean audio signal, you’d optimise for that instead.

“probably”? I mean, yes it’s a tech company, but it’s a bit surprising anyone would expect it to be much more than 50% engineering. Marketing and customer support alone would have a huge headcount - and given the impact AI tech is having on

Oh please, this is not how things will play out. Artists and content creators will be forced to move to more walled gardens to protect their creative rights. The warnings have been known for decades, nobody listened and now those bills are

Seems like this was all possible 10+ years ago with existing APIs at that time. I don’t see what’s so special tbh.

Ironically, anti-aging treatment would likely make people less grumpy and reduce load on healthcare. Doesn’t address the wealth inequality issue though, which is suspect is your main gripe.

I hear you, but windows seems like a black box in a lot of ways. I don’t have any trust that what it tells me about running processes is accurate. Under Linux I feel like I am actually in control of the machine on a much greater scale. And

Ummm.. this is pretty basic stuff. If you don’t know this, you probably shouldn’t be claiming to be a c++ developer.

Indeed. I’m struggling to see how AI here is superior to simple subdomain enumeration and tech fingerprinting.

I welcome this change, greatly. The world of software engineering is an awful shitshow of cowboys, vulnerabilities, amateurism and mud balls. The metaphorical well barely contains any water, it’s almost entirely piss. It’s disgusting and re
