Sunblock doesn’t block those beneficial benefits from sunlight; it blocks getting burnt, which can lead to cancer.

They do, at least for earthquake insurance: https://www.earthquakeauthority.com/ CA has required since the 80s that insurers that offer homeowner insurance also offer earthquake. However, after the ‘94 Northridge earthquake

Local radio stations and tv networks love this sort of thing. “Brought to you by and sponsored by KQED” accomplishes a lot in terms of PR, and they would likely be willing to fund it, at least at cost but likely quite a bit higher.

Even if that’s true, which I’m very skeptical of, the TSA has little to do with that. The armored and locked cockpit doors? Sure. Air marshals? Possibly. But the TSA has absolutely no bearing on whether or not a plane gets hijacked. It is f

Genuine question: how do they not violate HIPAA? Are they just crazy careful to abstract and anonymize any identifiable details?

I always wondered if frogs pollinated water lilies. Do they?

I think the OP meant that they were a minority nationwide and worldwide. It isn’t surprising at all that they are a majority in UT; that is literally where they breed, heh.

Sure. And it’s not a competition. Acknowledging the ways in which we are privileged is all I’m suggesting we do. Living in a warzone affords very little privilege, but likely not none.

You are intentionally missing the point. The pedantic definition of family is a strawman, in this case.

Not sure I understand what you mean. I am saying it is good to acknowledge the privileges you have, and/or the fact that you are privileged. Not everybody has privileges, or is privileged, or however you’d like to describe it.

Unless you or your family were the ones that fought, it is privilege. Privilege isn’t a “bad word,” either - it’s okay to have privilege. But acknowledging it’s existence goes a long way toward building humility and understanding the situ

Nope. Both my Lucid and my Ioniq 5 just plug and charge at EA, and I’ve never had an issue with either. Other stations require payment, but EVGo plug and charge works too if you’ve set it up ahead of time.

Precisely. The percentages are fairly similar, I’d guess. But we’d need actual objective data to show that.

Lucid beats Tesla on all 3. 520mi range, super efficient, 350kw charging (compared to 250kw on a Tesla). My point isn’t that Tesla sucks. It’s that they’re not inherently superior anymore. (And yes, Hyundai and Kia are great. Merc and BMW a

Cool. I think what this shows (your experience at superchargers vs mine, and my experience at EA vs the article) is that personal experiences vary, and we need better stats.
