The author is a PM with a bachelors in economics who got laid off last year and began building with AI. Zero engineering experience. You can guess what kind of software he is building. When you read the 100th blog post about how AI is chang

Now I see why he was on twitter saying that the era of coding is over and hyping up LLMs, to sell more shovels...

Let me know when Stacy from HR vibe codes her own salesforce alternative, sounds very cool!

Your first example is just a twitter post of a guy asking for a developer to review his vibe coded bot. Nothing shipped. The second example is twitter post of a crypto bro asking people to build something using his crypto API. Nothing ship

Some guy on Twitter selling an AI coding boot camp is an interesting example. Also it's literally just a post of him looking for a real developer to review his vibe coded bot???

So where is all this amazing software that you and others built with AI? All I see is hype blog posts and pre-IPO marketing by AI companies, not much being shipped though.

> even with the help of AI. This is what you get when you build with AI, an electron app with an input field.

Right. And when we automate work by formalizing it into verifiable, testable rules, it's called… programming. We have been doing that for decades.

Yup, checks out, you're definitely the type of person the AI companies are marketing to.

Well you would think if there is increased productivity there would be at least a couple studies, some clear artifacts, or increased quality of software being shipped. Except all we have is "trust me bro, I'm 100x more productive&

Is there any quantitative evidence for AI increasing productivity? Other than AI influencer blog posts and pre-IPO marketing from AI companies?

Might be a surprise to you, but some backends are more than just a Nextjs endpoint that calls a database.

Why not just ask Claude to fix the security issues and make sure they don't happen again?

I'm working on BacklogAI, an autopilot engineer for SaaS teams. You connect GitHub, CI, Sentry, and Linear, and it takes tickets all the way to production. Claude writes the changes, BacklogAI handles tests, migrations, feature flags,

So you think a statement about the current state of things is wrong because you believe that sometime in the future agents are going to magically do everything? Great argument!

Company that invested 100s of billions into AI says that AI is good. In other news, “Eat meat” says the butcher.

So you did some basic web development and built a "not well engineered" greenfield app that you didn't ship, and from that your conclusion is that "writing code is dead"?

To be fair, I’ll take a non-biased 16 person study over “internal measures” from a MAANG company that burned 100s of billions on AI with no ROI that is now forcing its employees to use AI.
