This is super unpopular, but I think young marriages actually give women more autonomy. When you’re 18, marry a 30 year old guy — then take 6 years for undergrad, have three kids along the way, and let him pay for it. Then do graduate schoo

I’m not familiar with category theory in depth, but homotopy type theory uses category theory for its semantic model and HoTT’s a big deal in the automated reasoning world. > Others thought it was pretty and useful for identifying simila

Not the person you’re asking, but the “aha” moment for me was connecting whiteboard diagrams with type theory. Whiteboard diagrams work because they’re a categorical diagram related to the semantics of the program I’m trying to write. In th

What word in the subheading do you believe is like “female” in your example? “Postdoctoral”? I’m genuinely confused here. It sounds like “experts surprised professional chemist solves problem in particle physics”. “Professional chemist” is

“In the ballpark” It’s not really new, to say that you should use simple heuristics to bound fancy math. Physics does it all the time — eg, unless you’re standing next to a black hole, your Newtonian and relativistic calculations should nea

Algorithms aren’t necessarily finite, eg “while True, print 1”. Also, an irrational exponent is the product of component factors. b = Prod(0,inf) a^[x_i * 10^(-i)] = a^x So even with irrational numbers, operations can be decomposed - such a

It’s not like that at all. It’s like reporting “chemist solves problem in particle physics” — which is interesting and a bit unexpected, but not at all an unrelated factoid about the person in the way marital status would be.

Yes — the goal of DDD is to explain why that’s a bad idea. For two reasons. 1. It makes your code a mess. 2. You probably wrote the wrong thing anyway, because how do you know what the customer wants if you don’t even know what they do? DDD

To elaborate — Domain driven design is about understanding the business requirements enough to know “this is fundamental to the domain” versus “this is going to change next month”. In the accounting example, when you talk to the accountants

“Antiracism” is another name for “critical race theory” which inherits from the general Marxist body of philosophy, of which “critical blah theory” tends to be a common name. Like “people’s republic” — it’s a fashion thing. https:/&#x
