As a child, I enjoyed things meant for adults (with regard to programming). However, this was a different era. In the 90s, computers needed programs to be useful, and regular computer users needed to be able to make them (not so much as the

Unrelated to OP, but Google Translate is notoriously bad about translating numbers from Japanese. It just can't help slappin' more zeros or the word "million" on the end when that wasn't in the source. What I'm

For a lot of the same reasons in this article I like to use tup[0] when I can. It doesn't integrate into anything which is both good and bad. I wish my IDE could check with tup to see what dependencies get pulled in by what files. Howe

AFAIK you want the biggest pixels you can for the resolution you want in order to cut down on noise, no? The only exception to this (which proves the rule IMO) is that Nokia 40 megapixel phone that came out a while ago. It deliberately reco

You say that but there's other reasons to use linux (on the desktop!), and serverless itself is an old concept in which I never used to care which flavour of unix/linux my host was running my php or cgi scripts on.

I got hazed by an upperclassmen with gentoo around that time and it's ruined me ever since. It's just not Linux if I can't edit a text file and rebuild the world.

I also think that at the time computer users may have been used to dismissing extra space around letters, since the computers they commonly interacted with would use monospaced fonts for technical reasons.

TBH I think game devs will pick it up. There are a lot looking for new restrictions/features that will force them to make fun in different ways.

I've held one in my hand and damn that screen is clear as hell (but reflective) I think it sits somewhere between IPS and OLED for me, and being reflective it's easier to look at.

They're not remotely the same product though. The person buying this /does not want/ those features, so those are actually downsides. They actively don't want emulation machines, because those machines never ship with an

I mean that didn't stop Sony from using it as the base for the PS4. Of course you're using the playstation userland on top of it though as Orbis OS.

I mean FreeBSD doesn't do Orbis (PS4) games either. Windows and XBox are a bit more like Linux and Android AFAIK (though UWP is a different thing, apparently).

I'm still annoyed that I can't buy an OLED panel anywhere between 128x128 and full HD resolutions. The HD ones are too big and difficult to interface with and 128x128 is too small to make an interface on.

Exactly, that's why one would get excited for C++ support. However, I realise the point is moot since there would be no way to compile the library. I've been living too long in "Compiles to C" languages this month I gues

Yup. People != Everyone. I will argue a bit for the value of noise (visual or auditory) of causing you to stop processing each individual element and accept them as one whole though. I don't think that argument applies to pin registrat

I remember seeing lua for the browser quite some years ago (not sure if it was fengari or not) that worked similarly (include the script and then anything of type `application/lua` would execute using it). I ran into it in 2014. If fen

I looked it up and the apache manual apparently recommends HTTP basic over SSL instead of Digest these days since apparently the extra protection isn't considered as worth it relative to just HTTPS-ing the connection.

I'll keep it in mind, but right now I'm trying to only use the classes that are provided by the engine or my own code as much as possible, since adding a dependency becomes a whole /thing/ in cross-platform game engines

I'm currently trying to get text layout working in a game and the /only/ text control provided by the engine is one that "can" be editable, since it's assumed for non-editable text you'd just use graphics.

My CRT would like to speak with you. More seriously, it seems every phone screen invents it's own pixel layout and of course, can be rotated 90° at any time.
