It's free software. The paid version includes an option to change it, and they ask politely that you don't change it otherwise.

I think it was a daily scoreboard so that wouldn't be an issue, but they themselves said the number was flawed, just not that wrong.

Your story sounds like "World of Goo," which reported a 90% piracy rate from comparing unique IP addresses to number sold. Despite that, they didn't quit and recently released "World of Goo 2" still DRM free.

I don't think this is the case anymore, see https://gitlab.winehq.org/wine/wine/-/releases/wine-9.0#wow6... though it's not the default everywhere.

I can't understand how this keeps coming up when Google just lost an antitrust case largely because they pay Firefox and Safari for their default search. Chrome only exists to funnel people into Google, they wouldn't risk their se

For years every Firefox discussion I saw would have some person saying "why are they wasting their time on X? I won't use it til they have vertical tabs" with scores of upvotes. This perfectly encapsulates the Mozilla positio

MSN is all rehosted articles I believe. Several times I've searched major paper headlines to read the full story on MSN. No idea what kind of deal these places have with Microsoft.

Yes. Mozilla was originally only the non profit, but it was ruled that selling the search rights violated nonprofit status. So they paid a couple million in back taxes and had to spin off a corporate entity that's fully owned by the no

You see more unhealthy drinking as less stigmatizing because it's associated with a "generally healthy" activity. That's weird. It'd be like saying eating two burgers with lettuce and tomato is healthier than one wi

It is a weird line in the sand that many people draw. If I had two drinks alone every night I would see that as more troubling than having three drinks with friends every night.

Worth noting it had been around for nearly seven hundred years, people weren't commonly buried there. And the other poster is right, it happened as the Doge sacked Constantinople in the Fourth Crusade.

One drink a day is seven a week. If your family describe you as regularly having more, I doubt you're having eight. More likely you're getting drunk on a regular basis.
