I love how crypto is somehow morally superior bcs "technology". Somehow crypto enthusiasts can explain away the opportunist cesspool that surrounds crypto as isolated anomalies, while making corruption a characteristic exclusive

The comments defending crypto seem to all anchor on the argument on what crypto "can" be. Anything "can" be anything. Maybe it is what it is and it has to be something totally different to be different.

The concept is interesting, but having the logo on every single object limits their appeal. Lego die-hards aren't the only people that may be interested.

It's obviously not. Persistent growth requirements for corporations will always lead to concentration. You need systematic change, not performative censures on popular companies to actually make an impact. Microsoft was broken up and i

It's just open season on Meta and big tech in general. Giphy isn't exactly an ad powerhouse nor a real competitor to Meta, but any acquisitions are now opportunities for political theater.

A company's valuation has nothing to do with its capital structure. You don't know how much of its cash is servicing debt. It is possible (particularly for a capital intensive business) to go bankrupt regardless of any continuing

You can also buy and own a lightsaber. It makes the sound effects and you can pretend it's real, but it doesn't actually do the things you imagine it to.

I love how the only "use case" for this tech has been speculative trading (paid for by that stodgy fiat money everyone hates so much) but the innovation fantasy sell is still in every thread related to crypto.

How is Lore raising $500B to engage in a project he has zero experience in? So far it seems like a website full of future speak is his only selling point. I foresee an underfunded, overstretched attempt coming under federal inquiry to accou

Yes that's why they hire them. Often managers hire McKinsey to legitimize their own ideas and then use them as scapegoats if things go sideways. That's one of their main selling points.

Sorry but I have a hard time believing the FDA didn't know anything about McKinsey's ties to pharmaceuticals. The scenario here is likely ProPublica coming to the FDA and asking why they hired McKinsey since it has ties to Pharma.

Not sure what "next level" means. McKinsey is a consultant. If a company asks it to figure out how to make the world a better, happy place, it'll consult on that, but they don't. McKinsey has been used as an excuse for a
