I don't know if finance people would consider me "talented", but as a developer who has been using C++ for over a decade, not once in all that time have I ever wanted to work in HFT. I don't know if that's a solvabl

I wonder why it doesn't find Weird Al songs. If you search for Michael Jackson's "Bad", I'd expect to see Weird Al's "Fat", but neither one appears in the other's results. Instead, the actual res

There's something so gross about this comment (or maybe there's a better word for it?). Valve is guilty of anti-competitive behavior, and effectively has a monopoly on PC gaming. > If you're remotely serious about indie

I like Godot but the development process really sucks. Godot 4 has been in development for so long that it feels like vaporware. 3.5 is nice and stable, but has shortcomings that are only being addressed in Godot 4.

I bought a retired dual-socket Xeon HP 1U server on ebay with 128GB of ECC RAM for like $50 on ebay a while back. It only had one CPU, but upgrading it to two would be very cheap. Sure, it's hulking, obsolete, and very loud beast, but

$60 per unit sounds pretty good. Does anyone have experience cross compiling to x86 from a cluster of Pis and can say how well it performs? A cheap and lower-power build farm sounds like an awesome thing to have in my house.

Conan + (any build system) = problem solved Conan has a learning curve, but it’s totally worth it. Anyone making their own build system should get some experience with a state of the art package manager before writing a single line of code,

Is it really used in production at several corporations, or is it more that several corporations happen to use a popular product that was built with Odin? Besides the JengaFX people, who else is using this language?

Yeah but the keys/switches themselves could become damaged by pushing them side to side. Maybe on a low height keyboard on a laptop it’s less of a problem, but trying to swipe my fingers across my mechanical keyboard and my X1 Yoga key

The Blackberry Passport had a capacitive keyboard which you could swipe your fingers on to scroll without touching the screen. This was extra useful in landscape mode since it maximized vertical scrolling space. The feel of scrolling on the

That's not a ban at all. Hobby Lobby refusing to sell dildos is a ban, but deciding not to display unpopular merchandise in advertising isn't a ban.

At the very least, it might teach more people the value of being skeptical (since ChatGPT is often wrong), and we'll see a reduction in the number of people falling for stupid internet scams and conspiracy theories.

It's all about the build system. Sublime has built-in support for a few, with more available as extensions. Auto-complete works out of the box using Sublime's own language-agnostic implementation, which obviously isn't perfec

I would definitely choose Sublime over this, only because Sublime isn't limited to/focused on a single language. However, if I were a paying CLion user, this editor might be a more compelling buy if it addresses some pain points,

Technically you can install whatever you want the traditional way by "layering" it on your base image. I.e. just do a `rpm-otree install <package>` instead of `dnf install <package>` then reboot. The hard/fun part

I can’t think of a single game in my library that doesn’t run on Linux today. The only exceptions are games with anticheat issues of course, but those likely run perfectly fine too. I’m not saying incompatible games don’t exist, I’m sure th
