While I agree that more standardisation would be beneficial, especially regarding electronics(!), the rest of the bike is fairly standardized (wheel / bottom bracket / pedal screw / steering column diameter etc.) . Unfortuna

I second this! I've been sending sensor data into the https://sensor.community cloud for over a year now, with dead simple setup and forget-about-it attitude since then. For the lazy there is also an option of spending ~50€
