Can't speak about Eastern Europe, but here in the Netherlands the public transport with Google Maps is really good. Including live-timing as to when your tram will arrive.

The Google Cloud was almost unaffected, during the outage you could not log into the cloud console or use tools like gcloud - but the services itself (vms, gke, pubsub, etc) kept working throughout the outage.

I think one of the things that GA is doing is actively removing bots visits because they skew country/browser/etc. data. Maybe Matomo is not doing that (so well)? Another thing is that people blocking GA trackers will also not sho

You also can't do multi-region on Google Cloud SQL (MySQL). The only thing you can do is run your replica on your own VM and configure it to read from the Master in Google Cloud SQL. (Or I am completely missing something)
