This is just a parody but seriously. Windows 8 desktop has 3 major problems. (4 if you include the branding of Metro or whatever it is called.) 1) Desktop should have Metro app's but not in their current implementation. Instead they should

I enjoy using Windows 8. There are problems. Shutting it down isn't obvious. Selecting "Lock" will bring up a sign in screen. Putting your computer to sleep won't... its all a bit strange. Like I said though, it is a fairly enjoyable experi

Put his on eBay! Ha! What was that scam that lit up HN last week? Pay for item. Report item as "not as described." Get reversal. Keep item? It looks like a cool collection. I didn't know games would be worth this much. Especially considerin

Very cool but isn't the AI bugged? Run unit into attack range. Pull unit back and attack with other units. Enemy AI will attempt to chase unit which you are pulling back. Should mean with a bit of micro you won't lose any units.

For me video games greatly affect my sleep. I was a teenager when I realized this and that was when I stopped playing games at around 9pm so my brain could reset and do something more relaxing. I don't think this is exclusive to games. I of

Does it matter what is the most popular browser? For me the only thing that matters is <= IE8 loses market share. A modern browser is pretty much a modern browser today and for 99% of web browsing it doesn't matter which you use. As a s

Is anyone tired of the PC brigade shitting on everything? "Bitch Please" is a response to when someone says something stupid. A man or a woman can say this stupid thing. The phrase works just fine either way. The fact this was one guy respo

I do not find this surprising. I think a lot of MP's are somewhat unqualified for the role they do. I think it is scary that politicians are put in charge of thousands of employees and billion pound budgets without having to have any experi

The issue here is data relevancy. How high tech is this audience? How big are the numbers which they are using to pull this information together? You would hope its 6/7/8 figure numbers but as it isn't specified it could be based on a 1000

I am angry with Amazon and Starbucks. I feel both of these have a large presence in the UK. They employ thousands of people. Amazon has done a large amount of damage to the UK high street. Starbucks has pushed out a number of independent co

I get what you are saying. I get that on Netflix for example they aren't just going to give away the latest series or episodes away for "free" to a standard account. I am fine with this. What I want though is an option where I can pay to wa

Its a shame that this will almost certainly be shut down quickly. Just browsed Hulu and they have shows on there which I download on a weekly basis. I do not watch much TV. I do not want to pay an extra £20/mo to get the hundred or so chann

How much time do developers spend looking at patents? If I want to build something, I will figure out how it should go together and make it. Does a patent still apply if a developer can prove they discovered how to do it separate from the p

I don't understand how hackers who appear to be so stupid manage to steal a domain. No public corporation would purchase a stolen domain name. No one would pay millions of dollars to cause a minor inconvenience to Kim Dotcom. Universal buy

I don't think this will make a good general forum. The comment box is small. It doesn't look like it would promote lengthy responses with images / video and whatever else. For me the main problem with forums like phpBB is noise from signatu

Is selling such information even illegal? Is it against Facebook's terms? By using an app you are giving them access to a whole bunch of your personal information. I always assumed that many were scraping data from my profile. This is why I

I think its a terrible idea. So you wake up: 1. Make bed and tuck in sheets so when bed is folded all the bedding doesn't fall off. 2. Fold up bed - desk appears. 3. Unbox everything to put on desk 4. Plug in any electrical equipment. (obvi

Why do people still support Assange? 1. He is facing sexual assault charges which he needs to answer. 2. He seems a bit crazed worrying about a massive conspiracy theory. He believes that US is the puppet master behind the Swedish charges.
