Why'd he even put a gas pedal in there? Isn't self driving a solved problem?

by bobmcnamara 3y ago
Why are there even gas pedals? Musk said self driving is a solved problem.

How would you change TCP? Do you mean how we have to use 4 fields to track a connection - IP address and port for both ends?

This is no place for hydrologic snarkery.

Linux, for better or for worse, doesn't have universal support for VSYNC. Without it, you can race the scanout and minimum latency can get well under 1ms. This was required for me to get a video stream down below 1 frame of latency.

by bobmcnamara 3y ago
Fun fact: if you have vsync enabled, latency depends on where you position the sensor.

The 60ms keyboard is wireless. Some of them will batch multiple key presses over a slower connection interval, maybe 60ms, then the radio to USB converter blasts them over together. So you can still type fast, but you absolutely cannot play

Every time its heartbreaking. I'm glad they're covering this in the news at least though.

I'm from the Midwest. Poor folks ship their kids off to clean the pork plants and slaughterhouses on the night shift. Cargill and JBS were some of the worst. It was easy to tell in school, they were dead tired and stunk of bleach. >

It was a plague for years where power failure during a write would cause an SD card to go read only or worse.

Is there a max yet or per disk limits? IIRC those would start writeback. I always thought wiping a slow USB disk shouldn't consume all available RAM. But it used to. Maybe it still does.

I edit my comment, but pre FPGA, much of our missile guidance electronics was entirely analog, and thus observable if your buddy say, misplaced one in the side of a mig. Now the bitstream can be downloaded as needed, and bit rots quickly af

Must not be from the midwest. Gilman and Pitcher closed because the cities could not be decontaminated. The Doe Run plant outside Saint Louis closed because they couldn't refine clean lead economically. Much of the city around it was b

It's standard substandard antiunion Jalopnik shoveltext, did you expect reporting?
799.
by bobmcnamara 3y ago
> but I don’t see how that’s relevant to the employer not paying the negotiated amount. Jalopnik ownership is notoriously anti-union. They take a lot of swings like this.

Yes, but they were all sold off to Univision who made them into Gizmodo media group in 2016.

Jalopnik is owned by Gizmodo, who are notoriously anti worker and have been locked in mortal combat with the writer's guild for ages.
