I'm not actually convinced a) is the best solution though. For some things it is, but once you work with structured data that might show up in different places and might be displayed in different ways in those places, it's not always the be

You should checkout http://www.webpop.com (disclaimer, I'm the co-founder). We've managed to make a dead simple on-site editing interface that works with any design, without any need to stick to any 'template'. Our goal is to allow design

For Webpop ( http://www.webpop.com ) we ended up going with TinyMCE as our rich text editor after trying both CKEditor and WymEditor because Tiny was the only one that handled pasting into the edit area fairly well. It's really tricky to ha

Seems like strong competition to Cloudflare ( https://www.cloudflare.com/ ). Always thought that was their greatest risk, someone with a huge, worldwide, already paid for CDN stepping in an offering the same service. They still have the sta

I don't think the "Don't use too many floats" is meant to say anything about performance, but about maintenance. I think the point is, that if you have to put "float" in lots of declaration, you're missing some abstractions in your css. Mos

In our case the documents we move to the garbage collection already have a _type property that stores the class name and we do add a "deleted_at" property to the new document in the garbage collection. But in the end, there's no other way t

Looks very cool, will play around with it. Seems like a big missed opportunity that Sprockets doesn't speak CommonJS.

Can attest to Haskell and Snap being excellent for small web services where you need a boost - especially when concurrency is involved. Wrote two small services for http://www.webpop.com in Haskell, both based on Snap. One for dynamically

Funny, with http://www.webpop.com we've kinda run into the opposite dilemma. We're building a fully hosted CMS, with redundant, load balanced hosting, custom data types, generic non-branded client interface and so on. But during our beta
