That's a good point. I was simply speaking from a usage standpoint, not for development. Also, I suspect you're talking about javascript speed -- I was mainly addressing non-javascript rendering. Chrome feels basically instant, while Firef

For me, Chrome wins purely on speed. Like the article says, "it [Chrome] feels faster, and that's all that matters." Once in a while I need to use Firefox to test something, and it just feels painfully slow in comparison.

The NYTimes just covered a similar idea, in an article titled "Just Manic Enough". An interesting quote from the article, which I think sums it up fairly well, was "You need to suspend disbelief to start a company, because so many people w

At the end of the article, Bourdain admits he succeeded primarily due to luck, and that "luck is not a business model". I suspect many here have heard the more famously quoted "hope is not a business model", which is also true. Perhaps le

The linked article is from 2009, but apparently they actually performed the test last Friday (September 17, 2010). They had a helicopter filming it, but the helicopter crashed.. while filming the autonomous car ascending Pikes Peak! See h

I would love to see this integrated via an API into other sites, as it is definitely the fastest/cleanest image uploading & gallery I've seen to date. Some probably obvious suggestions: different views, display filesize/type info when

As an interesting comparison, I just saw that John Resig posted a benchmark of jQuery.css() performance across browsers. It doesn't include IE9, but does include Opera 10.62 and FF 4.0b6 - http://www.flickr.com/photos/jeresig/4999526752/

Good question :) I didn't write the article, maybe ask @lucidchart on Twitter? According to the actual article title though, it seems the main interest was testing FF4 and IE9 against existing browsers, which would explain the absence of d

I'm not in a startup currently, but the individual coverage I can purchase is better than what my employer offers. I'm paying ~$140/mo for a HDHCP PPO with United Healthcare. It has a $1900/yearly deductible, and I am putting an extra $220/

I'm not a designer, but as a consumer I think site design is extremely important. If your site looks like it was thrown up hastily or is a fly-by-night operation, I'm definitely less likely to give you my credit card information. Why is i

It took John Grisham three years (1984-1987) to write "A Time To Kill", and it wasn't published until 1989 because he couldn't find a publisher. Fast forward to 2010 -- in an op-ed to the NY Times, he says that writing is the most difficul
