How come Parler wasn't removed from iOS app store months ago? I mean Apple will demand that content violating their policies in apps are removed. I'm sure Parler is full of exactly the kinds of things Apple wont tolerate.

Actually these kinds of restrictions have always made the software "non-free" all the way back since GNU. Long before any large corps got involved. OSS inherited this and was always very clear with it also.

They have to put a small speaker inside just for testing basically. Otherwise they will get tons of RMA for "there being no sound".

Does it support Apt-X? AAC is mentioned in spec sheet so I would assume its possible to get acceptable sound quality from iPhone, when using the Music app with AAC files, or even MP3 files. Anyone knows when using Spotify on iPhone and sele

Dune Legacy is awesome. They added some RTS features that evolved after Dune II like drag select and control groups. Makes it a lot more playable today without impacting the fel of the game. I also like that you can get a much larger viewpo

I really like the relational model, and I think its the best way to model data. Referential integrity is an awesome thing that removes the possibility for many bugs to exist. As for SQL it has its warts, but im pragmatic when it comes to pr

The C64 ROM has been included in emulators without restrictions for the last 20-30 years. So I think anyone claiming copyright now would have an uphill battle. It's a completely different situation than for Amiga ROMs, for some reason.

I think this code release is to enable mods only. To make it possible to develop a MyGame.dll with custom behaviour and/or art. It wont be possible to make a total conversion, standalone. So the talk about open source might just be mar

Games did its fair share of making the PC mainstream. Many got a PC to be able to play Doom. Games today is mainstream. Everyone young plays games now, might not talk about it but everyone does. So I def think games can be a driver to make

This is not so surprising for someone that has worked a lot with legacy systems. Deep down somewhere there is a LIKE 'EML STREET%'. Making it case insensitive will kill the performance because the index cant be used.

I find the 2D color maps beautiful for some reason, despite their simplicity. Was these hand drawn by an artist or generated in some way? Any info about it exists?

I don't see a conflict between using debugger and TDD. I use the debugger to set breakpoints when running my unit tests all the time. It lets me understand the code better when developing it. Also convenient when pasting in data from p

All great VR games are made specifically for VR from the beginning. Taking a flat game and do a VR version of it is almost never good (I cant think of a single example where they have pulled that off, outside of simulators perhaps). The rev

Steam does not reflect the VR ecosystem at all. Oculus store has the quality games, for the most part. Many Rift owners do not have their headset connected when not using VR. Like for example when playing a flat game on Steam.
