I tried this setup a few years ago, over a couple of weeks whilst in Spain on holiday. iPad Pro (1st gen + apple's keyboard case), shared Wifi from my iPhone (4G in roaming), blink, and OpenBSD VM from Vultr. It was surprisingly OK. Mo

I don't think the 'old' M1 13" Pro is long for this world - for £100 more (16GB+1TB spec) you get a much better machine in the 14" model. But independent comparisons will follow. I'd love to see a Pro/Max

As I understand, that $tn for F35 is projected over the entire lifespan of the program, which is decades in the future. Not the sum they spent on development.

As an 8yo, I thought ZX was a German computer, because like every other home computer of the time it came from a shop in Munich’s Schillerstrasse. Somehow it found its way into Eastern Europe that wasn’t too keen on importing computers. An

It’s difficult to move away from Apple if you want to keep all your projects/hobbies inside one computer. I can (barely) make Windows do all the things I need, but that’s not an improvement in any way. (Fwiw, aside from software dev I’

It may be so, but I'm talking from experience - as a keyboard geek I have, over the past ten years, taken all sorts of weird keyboards (and mice) into various big banks with not a hint of trouble. USB storage, on the other hand, qualif

I have not yet seen this implemented anywhere in banks. HID devices are fine, but anything else USB (esp. storage) is locked out completely. One of those banks wouldn't even let temp staff send emails out of the bank from their work ac

I wouldn't call them "ahead of time" - there was a need for a certain type of service and smart people recognised good solutions. It may have been ahead of time from general availability of that tech, and internal frameworks

This is absolutely true. Many are still running on old-old Mac Pros with Snow Leopard. Upgrades are done when hardware can't keep up anymore, but they also tend to use big DSP rigs from Avid and UA that remove the CPU bottleneck for ma
