The false dichotomy is that if one opposes one group one can't oppose the other. Or that if there are several bad things, drawing attention to one means approving another.

There's a huge swath of the industry where it doesn't make sense to release any faster than a few times a year. Think Office applications, RDBMS products, email servers, accounting apps, etc, etc. Even the fastest cadence apps (l

I don't know anything about your situation, but it really depends on what else is going on in your life. If you work a full day (or a little longer) go to the gym or participate in a hobby after work, drive home, cook and eat dinner,

I read that and I roll my eyes about how SF startup-focused it is, but to me it says it's an impressionable kid who reads too much Tech Crunch. What specifically makes you not want to hire him?

Even in cases like that it's uncommon for the object to actually take up a lot of stack space. Since member variable's sizes have to be known at compile time it only applies to fixed-size (or parametrized) buffers.

Also be aware that many employers offer flex-spending accounts for healthcare, which allows you to pay for certain health-related expenses with pre-tax money. There can be downsides (e.g. "use it or lose it"), but for planned pro

You're right. You should distrust any argument Norquist makes about taxation - you'll find that they are either wrong (as in this case) or strawmen. His actual goal is to defund government and you should assume anything he does

That's what I was thinking, but TFA is too thin on details to draw any conclusions. Like your example about a candidate having a better second offer and asking Reddit to bump theirs - I guess that counts as negotiation, but is that th

I wonder how they expect it to work out in practice. Are they increasing the amount of their offers to compensate for this, or are they just planning to accept that better negotiators will go elsewhere (for more money).
