No, it isn't sarcastic. It's the unfortunate truth. This is well reported on and researched. Republicans leave the Democrats a mess to clean up, the Democrats do, but the economy only starts to boom once the Republicans first retu

It's hard to fathom any of this, and it's seriously concerning how out of touch Gen Zers apparently are. These unreasonable expectations of an entitled and clueless generation are pretty jawdropping. I hate to use those words, but

It's not a big caveat. How else would you define paycheck to paycheck? I'm talking about days, weeks, or low single digit months. A window of time is not indefinite. The point of measuring people living from paycheck to paycheck i

That's all well and good, so where's the link to the studies and the studies' parameters? It's not like I'm denying well presented findings. In absence of those, I can hold skepticism about the claims. My definition

If I am understanding that |x| 2 * x in Rust is an anonymous function, another F# equivalent is fun x -> 2 * x.

I thought that the Rust playground was requiring me to use return, but I was mistaken. However, it actually lends to my original point though because I would wager that dropping the return was part of the influence of ML on the beginnings o

I can understand that. I think it just points to that the challenge is not for me. It also comes at a time when I desperately want a break or to work on my own projects, software or otherwise.

The argument you make about literature is one I have made before, but I don't think it applies here. To me, languages with clean syntax aren't just removing things arbitrarily. They remove things that aren't needed or they ot

There is something real to it. It's not just nostalgia or a fad. Go and look at product manuals from the 70s through 90s. They're awesome and detailed with diagrams and even exposition discussing the general genre of product. For

If you like Python and Lisps, then I'm surprised you don't like F#. It is much more concise than Python, even for pure OOP programming.

MLs aren't really academic languages aside from Standard ML. F# and OCaml are very pragmatic languages. The cleaner parts of Rust came from ML. What syntaxes do engineers find clean? I don't understand the distinction you're

That's interesting you dislike ML syntaxes when they're generally thought to be the cleanest syntaxes. What syntax families do you generally like? Also, Haskell isn't really ML-syntax. I love MLs but find Haskell syntax prett

One reason I didn't enjoy it was that I felt the days don't build on each other well. So you get little code reuse. It was continually changing requirements, so it was especially like work.

It takes mere seconds to write type hints, and with modern auto-complete tooling or Copilot, it's basically automatic. It goes a long way to use tools like MyPy to verify your code and also provide documentation for users of your code.

This isn't really a specific complaint about this book. Just triggered my thoughts on a general theme. Thanks for writing the book. I might look into it, as I'm generally interested in Lisp/Scheme-likes.

Bambu Labs' quality and feature set is much, much higher and larger than Prusa's, and the price is right. Prusa bet on people wanting to continually fiddle with their 3D printer, but that segment is already niche and likely dying
