Yes, not only does Microsoft push their cloud account for login, they also spam ads in their notification bar. Going from memory, exact words may vary: - "Install Microsoft Authenticator to log in with your phone" - "Sign up

I had a similar feeling when I removed all social media apps and games from my smart phone. Whenever there's a lull in activity (like waiting for a bus, at the doctor's office, etc) I used to mindlessly swipe and scroll away. Now

Using a phone number does let the app quickly build a social graph of your friends using it. But email could do the same thing, with higher risk of fake accounts. It could be worse, an app could say "You must sign up with Facebook"

I'd like to think that Disney execs are smarter than you give them credit for. The reason I compared Milo and Gunn is because both of them were deplatformed (by Simon and Schuster and Disney respectively) for making comments related to

Boxcryptor used to be a one-time purchase to allow an unlimited number of cloud providers and devices. However they decided they needed a consistent revenue stream so they renamed their software "Boxcryptor Classic", stopped updat

The lack of consent requested is ridiculous. There may be some sort of 'obscure paragraph in the terms and conditions that says Dropbox can do whatever they want' but this is horrible for privacy and business security. I'm gl

I remember Obama 2008 doing an effective job using social media to get out the vote and raise donations. Technology is a great amplifier, but policy is what attracts the initial support in the first place. Hard for Bernie supporters to get

It seems like widening Highway 5 and adding a dedicated carpool lane, along with creating a Greyhound-like public transit route from Northern to Southern California would have been more cost effective.

Yeah that looks more secure, unfortunately Philips added a DRM-like protection to force everyone to use their cigarette adapter. Basically there is some sort of circuitry that identifies an official cable. Someone on a CPAP message board sa

I had to figure out how to power a CPAP while camping. Some thoughts: - The article says to use a 12-volt marine deep-cycle battery. Recommend using an AGM battery instead, no need to deal with refilling electrolyte and easier to transport.

The title implies that Woz was working for Facebook, when he's only a user. That being said every celebrity that quits helps reduce Facebook's dominance, as their fans may consider quitting too. A good thing IMO.
