Not to be argumentative but doesn't shaking present the same scaling problems? You can only stack so many iPhones before it becomes dangerous to shake them (for me shaking one is enough!). Why not put a button with a certain timeout, surely

I really need that Transmit cover as a desktop wallpaper. Also it's very cool of Panic to be so committed to such a random, amazing idea.

Apple should just monitor high volume developers. I'm not saying all developers with 100+ apps are evil, some are ebooks or whatever, but they should definitely keep an eye on them. Many developers with that many apps are doing something we

Somewhat sad seeing those familiar brands go down, but seems like a lot of them are from being too complacent and refusing to put in R&D money when everything seems fine and cash is rolling in.

How much finance math do you need ahead of time? Is it enough being a great developer who is willing and able to learn the financial side quickly?

Exactly, there is no incentive to hand down bad ratings to the people giving you all your money. Way OT but lack of proper incentive is a huge problem everywhere and played a major part in the banking collapse.

That article was interesting but the contrast between the paragraphs and the code blocks made my eyes strain way too much. Am I the only one?

I asked this in the Techcrunch comments but I'm thinking it will be more visible here: In terms of the iPhone app, how do they trigger anything without having to keep your iPhone on and in their app the whole time? Other than that I am sold

As bad as The Consumerist is, they did teach me what the phrase 'executive customer care' meant. Which has saved me on a few occasions. I wish they'd stick to helping people get just compensation rather than these type of posts.

First thing I thought of too. Though at least with the iPhone you knew which way was up, didn't have to take a 50/50 chance.

If you like that game try Hook Champ, same mechanic but with powerups, unlockables, great graphics and a committed developer with a major update already submitted.

While I agree that a lot of the griping is unwarranted and developers don't know how good they have it, you're wrong about them being the best. Danger (now Microsoft) had an amazing hiptop developer program that many people forget about. Of

I love that Jobs uses the "Sent from my iPhone" signature after all this time. So unnecessary.

I second the Hillegass suggestion. Not only is it considered one of the best, you really don't need to read too much of it before you can be off and running on your own.

I don't think you can make a case for Flash in OS X not being evil. I never had a problem in Windows, but seeing it grab ~50% of my cpu, even when idle, on a Mac definitely makes me categorize it as evil.

Ha, I had and loved 2 CueCats. If nothing else it was great to get free scanning hardware. Some cool projects were done with them at the time.

Yea, it is definitely successful but what I meant by that is the users of SO are not at all elite when Google sends them there when they ask how to do their homework.

Seems Jeff and Joel are always patting their readers on the back and saying they are so 'elite' for reading Coding Horror or attending Dev Days. That part may be true, but using SO is anything but elite. Any google search containing somethi

Yea, I can understand it's expensive but the thought of spending more than what a baseline iMac costs just for RAM is a tough pill to swallow.

That iMac is basically a work station with the Nehalem processor and that much ram. Still ridiculous that they charge $1400 for 16GB RAM though.

Yes, but there is no way for them to know that their mortgage will be sold, that is strictly up to the financier and the third party. Therefore a borrower cannot know what is happening to their mortgage other than they have to pay it. Howev

I agree with you entirely. But from the person looking for (or getting) a mortgage, they likely didn't know the lender was going to chop up their mortgage and mix it with bits of hundreds or thousands of others' and sell it to another party

I've actually been on the fence about buying Psychonauts for a while, after reading his post and seeing how he's just a normal guy with ups and downs who's trying to put out great stuff I'm going to! What a great run-on sentence that was.
