Why can't we have something like Linux in the web browser world? A web browser built by the community that does not depend on a big bag of money for its continued operation. Surely writing an open-source operating system that drives th

Coming from C++, the main thing I am missing in C is generic data structures. Having to resort to macros to implement generic vectors ( https://github.com/eduard-permyakov/permafrost-engine/blob/m... ) I find c

Thank you for your comment. This inspired me to try to take another stab at studying category theory. I'll start with this lecture: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I8LbkfSSR58&list=PLbgaMIhjbm... Are there any good

I agree in the sense that it is important to understand the underlying concepts of Git. Once that is clear in your mind, it becomes much easier to use. When I explain Git to other people I explain it as a tool for manipulating commit graphs

This separation was never a hard requirement. For example `std::map` implements `lower_bound` and `upper_bound` as member functions because they can be implemented more efficiently than the general `std::lower_bound` and `std::upper_bound`,

Agreed. Why would you need to run a daemon for the latter two points? These requirements can just as easily be handled by storing files in a fixed location in the user’s home directory.
