Well done. I don't understand this TFA, nor do I understand (fully) the xkcd cell. But I get the connection. Thanks :)

"cute" titles should be reserved for tabloids. Say the real thing as best you can in the title, especially when human (or any creature) suffering is involved.

While the article suggests that Thailand is no longer cheap (due to popularity?), it is still quite cheap. For $1-2k/mo you can live comfortably, including beach areas. Things work pretty well, and the people tend to be generally fri

Forgive my pessimism, but I think this essay was less about making people think and more about providing some fluff between ads. But I'll bite... FP is not the new OO. FP is as old as time, because fundamental truths (and maths) are p

Same, from Fort Worth. We had no idea what it was until a few hours later. Hearing people die is just not something we who live outside of war zones are accustomed to.

It also happens with EU spec machines and their respective EU power supplies. Could be that some of these older homes aren't properly grounding some outlets, so regardless of what you stick in there, maybe you're not getting a gr

Thanks, this is a new one for me. I've been happy with hotels.com for a very long time, but now I'll start comparing here. I'm amazed that Destinia appears to still be independent. Usually by this age of successful travel

Several commentors have written this advice, but almost always if I check the hotel website directly I see much higher prices than what are offered on booking. hotels.com, or agoda. However, with flights and flight search websites I do some

While I most often use hotels.com, I have used booking many times. I have never had any trouble nor complaint with the website, but perhaps that's because I'm in the EU and there are more regulations (as another commentor noted).

Based on the spec requirements listed in the Steam store, I think you should be able to target 8 or 16GB M1 Macbook Airs. Everything else is above that. And targeting Intel Macs is pointless. An M1 Air is $1200ish. So it shouldn't b

There's a concept here to refine... I've thought about something that's perhaps related. One problem with a lot of modern (online/shared) games is the sense of missing out when you're not playing, or the sense of co

I considered this, but there's nothing wrong about "just another phobia", even if it may be the meta-phobia-to-rule-them-all. The self-circular nature of agoraphobia is fascinating to contemplate though :)
