Google should be asking from a product perspective if they are providing the search results the user is most likely seeking. I seriously doubt that most pinterest results are what users are seeking. As such, Google probably should consider

VSCode had (may still have?) a problem with code completion popups that would get in the way and not go away. But it, like IDEA and other IDEs, gives you the option to disable some or all helpers. So in vsc I turned off code completion. J

The slash handler is surely part of the cause of the higher typing latency compared to nearly every other program I use. I know of no other app which does what they do. Other apps do things like cmd-space (spotlight, which I use ALL the ti

I actually started writing an itemized response to this topic, but I got so frustrated I stopped (and restarted later and stopped again). It really comes down to the oft-used expression, "do one thing, and do it well". People thi

Are you not concerned with Apple potentially delisting you or rejecting a future update due to some reason which may or may not be clear? I suppose you can always go back to direct if that happens, but people who bought via App Store will

When I read people like or love Notion, I wish I could watch them use it. Obviously they are doing things very differently than I do... Typing latency while writing or editing a page is really high (bad). Every keypress you do, must be go

The modern stock markets have been insane since at least the 90s, and I bet there are some underlying banking and finance rules which led to the changes in overall market sanity. If you go back in time, value investors really dig into compa

One mistake many of us make (myself included) is making career choices based on money. Looking back, many of the jobs I took were just for the big pay increase. But unsurprisingly, I wasn't happier. Worse, it became harder and harder t

That Rafal Dittwald video is excellent. It gives a small but illustrative comparison of procedural, oop, and finally functional... and using javascript (thereby making it accessible to non-lispers). Most developers should watch it.

The beauty, from a nefarious standpoint, is that you don't have to pay people to spread disinformation. You just have to use the right psych techniques on them and ensure they get proper reinforcement. These are the techniques that ha
