Politicians are cheap. You don't have to be super-rich to buy them. Corrupt undemocratic parliamentary systems we have in EU are a huge problem but getting rid of super rich won't solve them.

Instead of calling for more surveillance, government overreach, and other communist wet dream fantasies like a global registry of wealth they could have started by fixing things in their own countries. One good way would be to start taxing

Do I "poach" a stock when I offer more money for it than the last transaction value? "Poaching" employees is just price discovery by market forces. Sounds healthy to me. Meta is being the good guys for once.

That's a good point. I was under the impression that the current administration thinks it can win a case about 14th amendment in case both parents are not legally in US with current majority but if they are in fact not appealing it wou

I don't think class action lawsuit is needed here. It's enough for one case to get to SCOTUS and then we will hear their opinion about how 14th amendment should be interpreted. It will be an interesting case I think both 4-5 again

My understanding is that the administration's position is that at least one of the parents needs to be a citizen or a legal resident. If that's the case the answer to your question is: yes - together with the parents.

It has nothing to do with credit. The whole buy-now-pay-later, 0% rates or pay-day loans industry came much later here. The same goes for predatory marketing industry. When I went to elementary school everyone was poor as it was a year afte

It would be easier to buy that argument if it wasn't happening in countries where healthcare is not fast track to debt and police is not out there to get you. I come from such a country and a lot of financially struggling people oversp

From purely incentive based analysis I would bet on Ukraine/Poland as well. I am Polish and the news was received very warmly here by both citizens and government officials.

Poland also have around $50B in gold reserves. Is there some law or unwritten law that requires Central Banks to keep so much gold? It looks like waste of resources to me, especially so if it's kept abroad. Is there a scenario in which

It's not about profit but efficiency. Publishers are arguing that "Google steals their money". My point is that if Google disappears things will be worse for them. You don't need to support anything.

Yeah but they are the best at it. If other players take the market it will be less profitable to advertise with them and thus there will be less money for publishers unless you believe somehow someone makes more efficient search/ad com

You want incentives for both having children and raising them well. That's why imo your retirement should depend on % of your children's taxes not yours.

>>Retirement is still dependent on children. Before it was your children. Now it’s a collective mass of children. Which messes up the incentive structure. People with many children are subsidizing those with fewer/none.

Walking 5km/h at 70kg is 350kcal/hour. If you are heavy and unfit then it will maybe be 3km/h at 90kg 270kcal/hour but then someone that unfit is not going to be able to burn 500kcal in an hour in a gym anyway. >>I
