I've been in software architect roles on and off during my career (currently I'm on) and I feel like I've read similar discussions to the ones in the comments many times over the years. But no matter how you cut it, you can&#

This "average of a list" is a red herring, because in practice one gets some variation of dynamic programming, trees, graphs, etc. And for these kinds of more complex algorithms problems I would not expect most architects to be ab

It seems that this attitude bordering on delusion of being able to change the world for the better is a defining feature of entrepreneurs. I'd say it's the entrepreneurs which are crazier, even if some of them at least succeed at

Western European countries seem to be completely incompetent at deporting people. Illegal immigrants, terrorists, criminals, they fail to deport almost everyone.

While this might seem like a victory for human dignity, it's not, it's just going to piss off the locals more and make them dislike foreigners, especially those from certain countries.

Apple are throwing more roadblocks at least partly because developers are becoming more and more deplorable, trying to claw every penny they can by collecting and selling every bit of metadata (or even data) they can get their claws on. Mic

Better one serious lockdown and then having some peace of mind than an endless series of half-assed lockdowns like in Europe. I've lost track of what "lockdown" we're in now and the people are getting really tired of the

This kind of black and white thinking is very impractical and self-defeating, except maybe for RMS, to remind us what we should strive for. For most of us, the real world decision is to either work with a company which is actively working o

Your CV or Apple credentials are not relevant. If one considers privacy important, as you seem to, then they should engage with companies which at least try to behave in a privacy-friendly way instead of typing backdoor in all caps severa

Based on how the German press was claiming that Trump was clearly guilty for the Capitol building incident, I was expecting at least some kind of controversial statement, but there's no explicit call for violence or anything in there
