OK, as an American "Peep Show" fan, I'm trying to figure out why people make fun of Croydon so much. I've noticed it online recently. On the show it seems like a pretty average place.

This is really cool. Is it possible to express the edge coloring constraints simply via integer linear programming? This seems like the type of problem that might be NP-hard but tractable in practice with good heuristics.

If you're going to put all that modern c++ in comments, might as well use a macro or special token so you can uncomment them automatically when you switch to a newer compiler.

but long trips are so rare in most people's lives. perhaps we will start renting gas cars for long trips. similarly, most people own small-ish cars and rent a u-haul when they need to carry big objects.

This looks cool, I read a little of the code and it seems like good C code written by a sensible person in the current decade. One suggestion: I noticed your nav.c depends on render.h - selfishly, as an AI researcher, I want more games/

This could be solved in a language like python using generator expressions, or in C++ with iterators.

Moreover, they can be used in composite objects without pointer chasing. Suppose class A is a 32-byte value type. Then class B { A a1; A a2; } is one continuous 64-byte block of memory. Without value types, each

FWIW, the code on that page computes EMD for histograms, which is basically the easy case. The EMD over a high dimensional continuous distribution like images is intractable by comparison.

Agreed, digital typography was far more constrained back in the day. You couldn't even embed a ttf font into a web page until recently, and the intersection of Mac and Windows default fonts was like 4 fonts. Even in images, the low dpi

The lack of value semantics for composite types is a huge problem in the language itself. It is often hard to get a Java program to have the same memory layout you would get writing idiomatic C/C++.

I did that until I hit the Linux directory name length limit, lol. Now I hash the hyperparameters dict to get the directory name, and store a json file within. Totally ad hoc and I'm sure a better solution exists.

Depends on the topic. If there's a lot of math, you might as well go straight to LaTeX.

but then how will you keep track of which parameters worked well? I've been essentially storing my kwargs in json and not felt a need to control anything directly from the CLI.

what happens if you write a really slow test? is there some way to take advantage of the inbuilt console reporting, etc. without running them after every compile?

I did mine using assert.h and a signal handler. More code, but advantage is you can also use assert.h internally anywhere in your program without it needing to know about the test framework. On other hand, makes testing optimized builds dif
