This is great, thank you for sharing! The QR code generator alone sold me on getting it. So many online generators demand I make an account for some reason. It would be amazing if this were extendable with plugins though. I have a ton of cu

Nice work! If you’re looking for more questions, my nonprofit specializes in authentic communication in groups. We have a list of prompts for our group moderators, but you’re welcome to use them as well: https://www.totem.org

Maybe it's not for you, but the "everything is a string" thing is just the default. SQLite has STRICT table option since 2021 that people really should be using if possible: https://www.sqlite.org/stricttables

TFA did mention using animated AVIF, but not WebP for some reason. The issues still stand though, no playback controls, no programmatic playback, no audio. For my use case, I was not able to get an animated WebP to just play once and stop.

While I don't see the advantage of writing UI in Rust vs Dart, I'm a huge fan of flutter_rust_bridge. The work fzyzcjy and the community have put into calling Rust code from Dart seamlessly is such an asset to Flutter apps. I rema

There's a similar method to get into an Eight Sleep Pod 3 [0]. This requires less extra hardware though since some models come with a MicroSD card that you can modify. The method used in TFA might be a good way to get root on Pods with

This would be cool to compile to wasm and ship to the browser. Seems like it would give a static site super fast search powers.

I don't totally understand this comment. Random data can get you more scale than production data, in that it can just be made up. All the load and E2E testing can be done with test data, no problem. This idea of data being statisticall

Thanks for the reply, I don't mean to be discouraging! I totally believe people do this, I'm saying they shouldn't. There are other issues as well. Once production data is floating around different environments, it will be ea

This is somewhat framework dependent, but factory_boy supports connecting factories together via SubFactory. There's a real-world example I'm building [0]. See where "author = SubFactory(UserFactory)". I'd imagine t

I don't know exactly how this works, but I wanted to share my experience trying to anonymize data. Don't. While you may be able to change or delete obvious PII, like names, every bit of real data in aggregate leads to revealing so

I just got this working. The workflow is a little wonky to me, but better than I've seen from other AI-in-the-terminal solutions: Setup: 1. Go to Settings (⌘+,) 2. General > AI. Put in your OpenAI key. I went with GPT-4o. Make sure

While this release is more about bug fixes, with no stable features, I'm so excited for macros. Dart is an amazing language, but the json story is way too weak for a modern ecosystem. Dart is my favorite language right now. The tooling

Maybe, maybe not, but there are additional reasons to strip EXIF data. For example, many phones add location data to the images they produce. Posting those images unoptimized online can be a major privacy issue.

The macOS integration on this app is impressive, but the technical compression bits are a combination of ffmpeg and off-the-shelf image compression libraries. The 90% number is a pretty typical (with lossy) image savings when taking a total

There are some key differences here though. By definition, humanoid robots will never get smaller. They will get less expensive, but never less than something like a Roomba. I do think smarter robots will take off, but I don't think th

I can't see human-like robots being the way forward. They will always be expensive, bulky, and creepy. No one will want one in their homes. You can't have them unattended in public (see what happened to all those kick scooters). M
