You're just conflating issues here. Nobody disagrees that Facebook is behaving in a scummy way. People simply think it's weird to complain about an endless stream of FB messages when the solution is in plain sight.

This is very simplistic. There is a lot more to consider in potential M&A than just raw numbers. Cultural fit, how it changes relationships with other suppliers, laws and regulations, management, etc. I'm not persuaded the current

This is your first comment in 1.75 yrs and we have no reason to trust you; your testimonial is unconvincing, unfortunately.

A shame. It's missing too many features I'm interested in but it's definitely the nicest looking "flagship" Android phone imo

Weird, I was just looking for something like this. Have you seen scrollldit? Both that and this are missing the ability to go back to the comments though

The key is that Google's business model is not built on people that are behaving illegally. Google would obviously still exist if rehab scammers and other bad actors didn't. Given this, I find your call for Google to reassess it

Don't you worry that removing the biggest competition will de-incentivize Téo Taxi from providing such an experience?

Academics would love it if they didn't have to do that. Society's undervaluation of academic research has led to this situation.

Thanks for clarifying, that makes much more sense. So you're basically asking a chicken-or-egg kind of question. Do candidates succeed because of money or do they get money because they are perceived to be likely to succeed? Certainly

I don't think that's what it's entirely about. It's way more efficient for people to eat plants than meat. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Energy_flow_(ecology)

what an odd response. We care because it suggests very strongly that money is important in winning elections. What is your point here? That it doesn't guarantee success?

I don't see the article arguing that all maps should be replaced with this visualization. It's a much better map for certain tasks. Of course you lose information by throwing out geography.

What? What employer has ever looked at a potential hire's homework? If you don't grade exams but grade homework, then homework just becomes a take-home exam...

That's a strong counterargument. But I strongly believe homework shouldn't be graded. Incentives are completely misaligned; you're penalized for getting things wrong, when that's a natural result during the learning proc

I had a different experience at an Ivy, but I'm not rich. Wouldn't say arrogant either, although I should probably leave that up to others to judge. My point is that "rich" and "arrogant" are key words here. Su

Are there non-cynical explanations of how someone with such a terrible track record gets hired? Maybe a dearth of alternative CEOs? Or is the reality as bad as it appears?
