I thought that many of the "features" are simply Gradle plugins that they happen to ship with the core product. In that case I'm not sure I'd call that too many features. Seems more like a good core product with a great

Not necessarily since you can just concatenate everything and use almond.js. Much more lightweight on the tooling front.

I think that is debatable. CommonJS is certainly simpler, however it won't work for browser-based javascript unless you wrap it with appropriate tooling. In that respect it's not just inferior to AMD, but it isn't even a viab

You are welcome to hold that opinion. Just keep in mind that the majority of users don't even know what javascript is or how to disable it. Depending on the audience, the fact that you don't want to enable javascript may or may no

The connect is a lot more than just a cheap camcorder. It has a regular camera plus a camera for depth sensing and a microphone array (i.e. more than stereo audio).

Swift is built on LLVM which can compile to many targets such as Linux and Windows. I'm not sure I see any reason to add Swift to GCC.

First off, Swift isn't actually dynamic. It's strongly-typed (the type system itself is stronger than Java/C++) with the ability to use Protocols to do more generic things when needed. Additionally, since the compiler is buil

Maybe because they want you to buy a Fire TV? :P Amazon Prime is already on a lot of devices and I'm sure that they just haven't had enough pressure to implement chromecast support yet.

Seems like the dispatcher is a more manual version of the Ember/Sproutcore run-loop. The advantage I see to the run-loop is that it batches all UI updates so they happen only once, where the dispatcher simply batches up model changes t

Why would you use mockObject.getPath('/baz/zar/zog') over mockObject.baz.zar.zog? Unless getPath is null safe and you expect that sometimes part of the chain doesn't exist, but the docs for getPath don't i

Apple doesn't focus on market share and it never has. Instead they focus on profit. Take (for example), the personal computer market. According to wikipedia, Mac OS X has around a 7% market share[1] yet Apple's larger competitors
