Thank you for the insight. I was not aware that the allocator api was not yet in the stdlib for embedded. I'll have to wait a little bit more then.

Let me begin by saying congratulations to the Rust team and supporting community. I've been following Rust when I realized it would make for a good language to try with robotic controls (due to all the safety stuff). Stupid question ti

I mean, some functions/methods will be longer than usual. Even if you split it into multiple ones the end product will be the same. Due to some of those derivative functions/methods being exclusive children to the caller. Sometime

As a lead dev this is spot on. A lead might seem more expensive at first, but when you factor every advantage you come out much better.

More or less. It allows you to write generic code you can reuse. In this case, you are extending the language. Feel free to post these "dumb" questions, or send them my way.

I don't know. Didn't oculus announce a 2016 launch? I wish I knew. It'd be nice to be involved with the people who change computing once again. :)

As someone who started programming during the mid 80's: - Everything I've learned may be applied to most languages. Meaning that writing testable code generally translates from BASIC to Javascript. - Programming should always make

This is a great opportunity to pair program with this person. You have the advantage of knowing the codebase and the company style/nuances. Sit down and show him. Don't point the things that are wrong. Make a list if all the func

Stupid question to those who work in the aviation industry: This seems like a candidate for an automated script that reboots the server every n days or hours. Would such script be considered a potential risk? If so, why?

For some reason this reminds me of how it was impossible for Nintendo to publish a SEGA game. Growing up as a die-hard Nintendo fan the thought of Sonic The Hedgehog appearing next to Mario was insane. Now days, I have a Nintendo Wii with a

These codebases are often sub-contracted to the lowest bidder. Which explains all of the issues that everybody has on a daily basis. Sadly, hardware is a race to the bottom, and there is little motivation to provide quality tools.
