I did a lot of work on that. But I found out most of the parser kinda ignore the complex stuff and are very sloppy about the white-space. So I am working on my own parser. That turns out to be quite a challenge For example Mango fails with

How are you solving the diff problem? Word based diffs tend to be jumpy and hard to follow. On the other hand line based diffs do not work well for text (prose).

I suggest to do what 4chan has done some time ago. Rewrite the css & html in modern fashion optimized for all devices but keep the style the same.

I would prefer some compiled JavaScript ECMAScript 6 that and could be compiled into compatible JS. So I can use all the goodness like classes and iterators. Without having to deal with polyfills. Please somebody...
