There must be a name for a concept that seems like it would be obviously true, but actually isn't. I don't think it's a bad thing that google ha a diverse set of products that didn't work together. I don't need m

Forgive me for being a bit daft, but: What do all of these messenger clients and things bring to the table that didn't already exist on AOL instant messenger 20 years ago? Slack seems like (badly) redone IRC. My computer 20 years ago

You know how people have been warning us about unrestrained AI? We already have it, and "the press" is an example of one (so is facebook). The press is a gestault that can ultimately take actions beyond what any individual compon

Because then you have to worry about it getting stolen, and you have to remember to charge it. Part of the magic of the birds is that when you're done, you just get off of it and park. 0 anxiety about somebody stealing it.

Why not do the exact same thing with cars? Heck, why not just break into people's homes and rob them while you're at it!

There are currently about 30 people at my house for a family dinner. We aren't an actual, blood family, but we are close friends that crisscross paths through our various jobs and life events. We keep track of each other via Facebook.

Dick's hideaway on 16th street and Bethany Home. Some of the best food I've ever had! Really lovely place but...just why on earth they have TVs in there? It just doesn't fit at all with the rest of the fantastic ambiance

Even worse is television in restaurants. There is this GREAT restaurant with near me with a little side room that has a really cozy fireplace in it (VERY rare for Phoenix). The lighting for the room, however, has been destroyed by the TV.

How much time have you spent in the woods? It's definitly far, far from quiet. At least where I grew up. Maybe in the dead of the night, but here in the middle of the city, on a Main Street, it is also so quiet in my room that I can

That unpaved parking lot and rundown building are part of the aesthetic, and probably part of what makes the shop so appealing. If the exact same bagels were coming out of wal mart, or out of some glassy office building and made by a robot,

Well I also don't particularly care about how many feet are in a kilometer, since they are different units. A mile is...a mile. A half a mile, a quarter of a mile, an eighth of a mile, etc. Yeah, there are 5280 feet in a mile. There

I'm one of the weird people that actually really likes imperial units. For instance: 1 foot -- base 12. This is a superior base to 10. It can be easily divided into 4ths, 3rd, and 2nds. Base 10 can only easily be divided into 2nd
