While those devices are far from perfect they are an evolutionary step in how people are able to interact with technology. My mother in law does not use a computer or smartphone at all, but she loves to use the Echo because it provides a fa

In my car case it was a know issue of this model and repaired for free within one hour. And while a degraded battery is nothing that needs to be replaced for free, the manufacturer of the phone probably sunk a lot of time and money into dev

I can't tell how well it's executed but the major issue I have with this is that this is not properly communicated to the user. I guess most people already get the feeling that their devices slow down after time, or the new apps&#

Why do you know that photos are not enough? If you have good enough photos you can produce higher resolution 3D models than with a Kinect like depth sensor (which in the end is just a stereo "camera" anyway). And since the Face

I don't think luck in this context is actually a thing that happens by chance but rather by actively finding and selecting the right choice presented to you at that time. I've seen it with myself and many of my colleagues that the

Can't resist: "The only winning move is not to play" :) But I guess it means that a winner knows when there is no path to a win and retreats to do something where it is actually possible to win.

How long does the extracted supply last. As far as I was able to discern from the article, more stem cells are grown and banked, so if they would be used for several future treatments is there a way to ensure that they last or is it over af

This was the reason why we initially started this project. This was back when the HDL-64E cost around $72k. It supports the LIDAR with 64 and 32 lasers, but it also has a generic mode where you can set an arbitrary configuration of lasers (

Simple answer: simplicity Our world around us is 3D. A camera projects this information onto a 2D plane and throws away a lot of information in the process. When we move in the world we need to know where obstacles are relative to us. We in

You don't need to engineer it. In our lab tests we accidentially realized that one of our desktop computers was "invisible" to the Velodyne, because it had a black case. Every material that is black could be a good candidate.
