I'd say Godot is the Unity of Unreal Engine. It might not have started in the pole position but it's gaining a lot of steam and catching up in strides. With the new Vulkan renderer in 4.0 the 3D performance should make some leaps

I am using a self hosted Jitsi-Meet server as the audio backend in VRWorkout. Their client runs in the browser and works pretty well. You don't get positional audio tho.

Have you tried the newest MoveNet from google? That thing works really well. I only started experimenting with the Lighting model (not Thunder) for our VR game but even that is pretty robust. If you want to see how stable it is, have a look
