Rust is trying to reduce the amount of magic in the libraries as much as possible. This means that whatever the language/standard library authors have available to them, third party library authors should also have access to. `T?` woul

I'm not sure. There might be something on PistonDevelopers: https://github.com/PistonDevelopers/ Bear in mind, the Rust library ecosystem is still pretty young, so you might have to write your own. Some could say

I would also recommend checking out tomaka's glium[0] wrapper for OpenGL. It takes a different tack when it comes to providing a thin, statically typed graphics API, so depending on your preferences it might be more your cup of tea. -

Hey there HN! I am one of the authors of this library - if you have any questions, feel free to ask. Kvark, one of our key contributors recently did a talk at the Toronto meetup[0] (starts from ~53:00) discussing some of the design of the A

Go seems to be an iteration of Rob Pike's previous languages, Limbo and Newsqueak - perhaps with a sprinkling of other ideas, but not much. Rust on the other hand has been a far more ambitious project, with very lofty goals. This has

It is a great deal more flexible having concurrency constructs built as library features as opposed to baked into the language. If the constructs provided don't make the same performance tradeoffs that your use case demands, you can bu

I have definitely heard from multiple people that for them Rust was a good stepping stone to Haskell. Hopefully it will be the same way with Swift.

I agree that it doesn't feel quite right, but this post seems to be more of a personal exploration of going from some ignorance of both languages, to having a better understand of where each language sits. His concluding section is nic

This is currently implemented in Servo, but it is not a trivial problem. It was only added in the past several months, if I recall correctly (pcwalton will have to clarify). This is but a demonstration engine for educational purposes - kind
