Im not a business analyst but possible explanation: Intel want their chips in embedded, low power devices, beating ARM chips to new markets. Nobody is building x86 wearables, so Intel want to start the ball rolling by doing it themselves. s

Cool - I'll set this up tomorrow, it looks good and my Music library is a mess. It would be nice to have a centralised repository on the website where people can share plugins (like Sublime's Package Control, which is 3rd party).

Are all of those true? Why is a manual toothbrush better than an electric one? I recently bought an electric one and I feel like it cleans my teeth a lot better. I've used some really great stainless steel pans, but they were evidently

To be violently hyperbolic; besides impressing non-tech managers who've watched too many Nicholas Cage films, what the fuck is the point of this? If you have the money to commission a set of devices that self-destruct when tampered wit

Great summaries, thanks! I love when kernel news is made as accessible as this (thanks also to LWN). Looks like a pretty major release. I only wish I had a rackfull of cutting-edge SSDs to try out the new block layer on!

This is fantastic! I don't eat meat, and out of laziness I often get my protein from Quorn, which is a brand of Mycoprotein. People often say "but it's synthetic! It's made in vats!". This is true. So what? I was ha

I only started doing this recently. It occurred to me that I had some conception in my subconscious that natural language punctuation wasn't required in formal language code files. I think it may have simply been a cognitive spill-over

Not only did it not support secure connections (which on its own is kind of shitty, but not laughing-stock material IMO), but it also failed to fail elegantly when you attempted to make a secure connection.

There are services aimed at e.g. PR departments for enterprise that do something a little like what you've described. I believe https://hootsuite.com/ is this sort of thing, but I haven't looked into it myself. I

I guess they wouldn't be able to do this for the Smartcards used by Chip+PIN as the PIN verification actually happens within the Chip. Unless perhaps the banks worked together on it, but I can't see them doing that!
