I sort of doubt that's how it works in Texas, but in Germany that's the law! A company can only prevent you from working for a competitor by A) keeping you employed by them; or, B) paying what the competitor would pay you. When I

Maybe if you could outsource the handing to a low-wage country, while still having the handees be either Gen-Z Americans or other VC-backed companies.

My place in Bangkok is a nice modern luxury building... at least it was luxury when they built it 17 years ago, now it's falling apart a bit but the amenities are awesome. The electric is probably grounded straight into the Chao Phray

I have a friend who as of 2019 was still running her black plastic MacBook for music production. (Probably still is.) Every time I saw it I felt a little pain -- why did I buy the white one? (Which turned half yellow with time.) I guess it

Is that not a use-case for Family Sharing? Apple says you can "download content" bought by other family members[0], but I guess this doesn't work for subscriptions? That's a real missed opportunity. I would expect them

Commerzbank terminated my contract after 14 years as a loyal customer (and plenty of money in the account) — they refused to say why, but my best guess is they were culling Americans. I think getting a German bank to open a business account

I have Nanoleaf bulbs that connect to my phone via Bluetooth. It’s kinda fun, these are my first ever RGB bulbs, but it’s super slow and finicky. I will probably upgrade to the Philips next year. They were cheap though!

Um, figurative painting is all the rage in the actual art world today. Art was never primarily about realistic mimicking of nature, even if some subset of it in some cultures may have temporarily appeared to be.

I'm not an archaeologist and I'm having difficulty looking up "uselife" online. What does it mean? Is it jargon for "the duration of its use by humans?" In the above quote that's how I read it: "When
