We desperately need to move away from these education systems. They worked well when resources were limited and identifying gifted students took priority. The world is a much different place now and we should focus on individualized curricu

Paypal is not a good solution for secondary markets. I wish someone would start a payment company specifically focused on P2P where you can have escrows and third-party reviews for expensive items. Instead of sending your item directly to a

It used to be that way but with all the data available to us now, managing fraud isn’t as difficult as it used to be. Definitely not to the tune of 3-4% both ways combined in many cases.

All these banks and financial institutions launching digital currencies miss the whole point: FRICTIONLESS transactions. Right now you have layers upon layers of network companies nickle and diming you. This is literally someone taking a pe

I like the idea of federated network but I’d rather see a virtual implementation.

Why would Apple pay $57B for something they can develop (a whole lot better) in less than a month? I really cringe when I see people use Shopify. But I understand why mom and pops use it. The same reason why they used to fork over hundreds

I love Apple Pay for web. It’s seamless compared to Paypal because all you have to do is touch/faceID. It is also ridiculously easy to implement as a developer. If Apple ever goes for the Paypal/Square/Stripe market, they hav

Thank you for that write up! I too started with Mathematica in my early days. I can still play the start up chime in my head. Then I got into econometric softwares which led me to Julia and Jupyter from closely following Prof Sargent.

I can’t agree with you there. I would say most professionals trading these stocks in volume know more about tech than what’s being discussed here. I speak from my own experience but Wall Street has changed quite a bit in the past two decade

This is my understanding as well. And why I believe AMD needs to either merge or be acquired to really make a run at CPU/GPU market. They’re seriously underperforming (this isn’t to say Lisa Su is a bad CEO).

Growth is good but we are entering an economic environment where countries and companies are growing simply to show growth. It’s inorganic. In the past this type of behavior would result in boom and bust cycles, now the easy money has made

This is great but why is it so difficult for AMD to break into the enterprise/server side of the market? Seems Intel is very entrenched in that space despite their clear exercise of market power for over a decade.

Inflation was low because of China. Production cost could easily triple in other parts of the world at the same quality and quantity even if we can move them instantaneously.

In a way you’re assuming no inflation which has been the case for the past decade. BUT. What happens when China goes offline and takes low cost labor with it? For the record, I believe this situation will resolve within the month but it wil
