But that’s something Apple can quantify. In your case it appears paying 30% is justifiable. Why can’t they just change it to either pro-rata or flat fee based on active install base?

I will be honest, I didn’t think Wordpress would last this long. However, there are some great (free) alternatives to getting a website up and running. Google Sites is one not mentioned in the article. It can handle basic needs for most peo

This right here is the answer. He couldn’t stomach his unicorn investments going to zero. This gambit sort of worked but his real assets are still illiquid. He’s still need to be able to exit them.

Not really true considering that moves were tied to very short-dated OTM calls starting late April. I don’t think even Softbank is that irresponsible. Regardless, we’ll likely see another market crash before election. Stay tuned.

The algos being talked about here do not add true liquidity. The fact that over 2/3 of investable wealth is parked in passive funds would suggest there’s not a lot of trading being done (2020 craze excepted). Therefore, what’s happened

As someone who runs data models at home in addition to 3D rendering, 3090 is a must buy for me. I imagine it will be sold out within minutes and supply will be an issue for months.

HCIT is a sh*tshow. It’s mind boggling how nearly 7 years of billions in “investments” have yield minimal improvements. Tax dollars down the drain. And I‘ve seen enough to know that it’s all by design. The entire HC industry does everything

Very good point and my example was not quite right. Although Apple’s market share is nothing even close to what MSFT had. It would be very difficult to prove in court that Apple is flexing market power when (a) they apply the same cut acros

Fair point but that’s largely due to security not Apple’s desire to lockout other browsers.

Might be an unpopular opinion but I don’t think they are acting to the level of MSFT in the 90s. What MSFT did would be equivalent to Apple forcing everyone to use its apps and not allow any competing apps. Also recall that Jobs was pretty

It’s disgusting that nothing will be done because everyone is addicted to cheap goods from China. If we cannot break free from current economic arrangements even after the pandemic, we will never be able to do so.

I know this is counterintuitive but in order to spur growth, and encourage the right type of risk taking which is how you end up with innovations, I believe you need to have interest rates above a certain threshold. Indefinite ZIRP discoura

As someone who developed web applications appx 20 years ago and back doing it for a few personal projects in the past couple of years, I am a bit disappointed in the progress that’s been made in the web development space. Edit: specifically

I know Apple does somethings wrong (App Store) but they’re one of few manufactures keeping the big ad-driven tech companies in check.

At this point you have to assume a round of antitrust lawsuits once the US govt returns to normal. But you have to wonder how they will divide the big tech or whether DC will even have the expertise required to implement something credible

Not that it makes this situation any better but the entire pharma marketing landscape was FAR worse in 90s and 00s.

I simply do not understand current demand for data centers and more specifically GPU/ASIC. Are companies really squeezing that much out of data to justify this level of investments?

It’s probably the best flight sim to date. I see huge potential for addons to leverage the map data. Perhaps an arcade mode to make it more accessible to casual gamers.

As opposed to Wall Street “professionals” making the same bets using other people’s money? This is absolutely no different from 97% of the people milking the investment management industry on Wall Street.

Might be an unpopular opinion but I think RH is great for financially literate retail users. Zero commission especially on options is incredible. They need to work on trading workflow or at least have an alternative for experienced users.

I have no issues using my 2013 Macbook Pro for 95% of the tasks. For everything else I can run it on cloud. This is also why older Macbooks retain value with a solid price floor even after seven years.
