You say "probabilistic" as if some kind of gotcha. The binary rigidness is merely an illusion that computers put up. At every layer, there's probabilistic events going on. - Your hot path functions get optimized, probabilisti

Did you even watch Apple Intelligence ads? They were very much in the race, just that they got ahead of themselves a bit. They were touting the same features that other companies are now delivering. Point the phone at something, and it'

Doesnt matter if it doesnt work. And by all accounts, Apple Intelligence has been a garbage fire. Siri, even after decades of investment, is a joke. Apple does NOT have the talent or capability to deliver what people want.

This is a reasonable approach, but unfortunately misses what made Apple soooo successful. Apple is the master of controlling the brand. Apple DOES NOT like to highlight their suppliers. Nobody knows who makes iPhones displays, or sensors, o

It isn't "apple proprietary" data to give it to OpenAI. Also the bigger problem is, you can't train a good model with smaller data. The model would be subpar.

The more I think about Apple, the more I realize that Apple is so far behind. While other companies are pushing the envelope (OpenAI, Anthropic, Google ..) Apple's ambitions seem much much smaller. And this is after they made very big

When Apple inevitably partners with OpenAI or Anthropic, which by their definition isnt doing "ethical crawling", I wonder how I should be reading that.

I admire your skill in bringing up, and distracting everyone with Google in a post about Apple's shenanigans. No love lost for Google, but wasnt expecting to read about Google as a top comment on Apple thread.

Apple is very cunning when it comes to push back. In China they go along with no whining. In US and EU, they make a big deal citing "privacy" and the likes. The only animating objective for Apple is money. Everything else is oppor

Agreed with some aspects of what you're saying. But if animation (both drawn and CGI) wasn't a problem, I don't see why AI videos should be. The dragon in game of thrones look real but it was 100% fake.
