If it is encrypted in browser. There is the encryption keys persisted with reference? Probably at your end? If it is in browser then $39/year is not justified. It should be free.

To be honest, if you have hard time companies to talk to you as an established org. You will have a hard time selling too. When you are creating something like this from scratch, then you have to do outbound just like a sales guys.

Sounds like you are dealing with what people call "brilliant jerks". One thing I have been having worked in the industry is that brilliance is a momentary thing. Once that facade is gone, only thing that you are left with is jerk.
